homemade foot masks

Homemade foot masks are the beauty treatment you should not miss out on when you want smooth and soft feet and relaxation after a long day at work. Here we found 5 simple recipes for homemade foot masks that you can make with natural ingredients you’ll find in your pantry and fridge.

Do-it-yourself foot masks are the most effective and useful beauty therapy to ensure well-being and relaxation of the whole body. Usually, when it comes to skin care, we focus in particular on the face and hands or the most exposed and visible parts of the body, while we rarely focus on the legs. Yet even your feet deserve attention, and for more than one reason!

In fact, masks allow you to create a real foot massage, which automatically helps the whole body to release tension and stress. In addition, these procedures relax and reduce the feeling of swollen legs and general fatigue.

To make your own foot scrubs and masks, you don’t need expensive products, on the contrary, it is possible to make very useful and effective ones using ingredients found at home, in the pantry and in the refrigerator.

Mask for dry skin

Among the homemade foot masks against dry skin, the oil and honey mask is very useful with its intense moisturizing power.

Take a small bowl and mix 4 tablespoons of almond butter – shea butter is also excellent if you have it on hand – 2 tablespoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. You can also add a few drops of lemon or your favorite essential oils.

Mix the ingredients until the mixture is stiff enough and apply it on the feet, leaving it on for about 20-30 minutes. For a better effect, we advise you to wear cotton socks. You can also wrap your feet in a plastic bag to keep them from getting dirty.

Soothing foot mask

As I told you at the beginning, DIY foot masks are an excellent natural and effective way to relax the whole body, especially the Coconut Lavender Foot Mask.

To do this, in a small bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of honey, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 2-3 drops of lavender essential oil (if you have a lavender plant at home, you can also crush the flowers in the mixture, so it will be even more fragrant) .

Mix everything and apply the mask on the feet, leaving it on for about 20-30 minutes before rinsing.

Moisturizing foot mask

To get an intense anti-fatigue effect on the whole body, we advise you to try the mask with clay and sage.

Unlike the others, this mask is actually a super effective foot therapy. Take a basin of hot water and put in 3 tablespoons of clay and about 5-6 drops of sage essential oil: gently massage your feet in the water until it cools. After the procedure, the legs will be more rested and soft.

Foot mask against calluses

DIY foot masks are very useful if you suffer from calluses: you will only need three ingredients, namely olive oil, lemon and baking soda.

Mix 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and a tablespoon of baking soda until the mixture is smooth. Apply the mask to your feet and leave it on for about half an hour: before rinsing it off, massage it well into the areas affected by calluses.

Mask against swollen feet

Use this lotion to massage your feet and ankles to increase circulation. Essential oils are a great supplement for constricting blood vessels and helping tissues release excess fluids.

Pour 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and a few drops of vitamin E into a blender and blend on high speed for 5-6 minutes. Add the essential oil and continue to mix for another 2 minutes. The consistency should change from translucent and thick to fluffy. Transfer the mixture to a glass jar and store in a cool place.

Massage each foot with your thumbs, starting at the ankles, moving down the top of the feet to the toes, then the soles of the feet. Continue for three minutes per leg twice a week for visible results.
